The Sleep Sitting Up is designed with safety in mind. In the unlikely event of an accident while wearing the device, the user is protected by two major safety features. The cord locks are designed to slip off the neck cord if sufficient force is applied. Therefore if your head moves forward, the cord will automatically release.
An example of this condition would be if the wearer would inadvertently try to bend over while wearing the device. The cord locks will release to sufficiently loosen the device from the wearer’s neck.
Each Sleep Sitting Up is made from unbreakable polycarbonate material. This is the same material used to make safety glass lenses. It cannot break in anything approximating normal use as it is almost impossible to break. The polycarbonate will bend, but returns to shape immediately. This adds an extra element of safety to wearing the Sleep Sitting Up.
